As corny as it is, we still tear up when watching Christian the Lion hug his former family. And we too are fascinated by Susan Boyle‘s voice. Then there’s the ever-entertaining Daft Hands (and its many spin-offs — our favorite being Honey the Shih Tzu). And we will never forget the man trapped in an elevator video. Or how the planes land at St. Maarten’s airport. Hmmm, we sound a little obsessed, no? Online video has the most amazing ability to trap you into its claws, and not let go, until you’ve watched dozens of silly (or funny or poignant or jaw-dropping) videos and realize you’ve stayed up way too late. Or is that just us?

Good Morning All, Thinking I should have titled this Blog Post ‘Freedom’. Once again, am way behind with my posts etc, now realising, that I doubt I will ever get caught up. So, I have done a little video montage of my last year. These are Photos from key points/events (granted, some won’t mean a great deal to you). Have put them to the song ‘Freedom’ from the Django soundtrack. Love it when a song/music stays with you and means something to you. Feel the lyrics of this track are very apt for me. As with many of us, have had a lot going on in life and I have let the personal side of things, hinder my work side of things. But, am playing catch up now. Hence this video, then I can start afresh. This is a video project I did for my church last summer. The team was so amazing to work with and I was blessed to have been able to shoot, direct and edit this music video. In case you missed the point, the song “Mirror” is by Barlow girl and it talks about how we often are misled by society’s standards. We mold ourselves to man’s image so that we can be accepted by those we want to be accepted by. But the truth is, the only audience we should really care about is an audience of ONE. God doesn’t care what you do, how you dress, or how you look. He loves YOU. So forget what people say about you, you know who matters most.

The Keats Festival is going strong, and we are very proud at Arachne Press to be a part of the proceedings. Saturday morning Cherry Potts ran a workshop on NLP for writers, using all the senses but in particular smell – partly because people rarely think about smells, and yet they have a powerful impact on us, often unconsciously; and partly because Keats trained as an apothecary and doctor, at a time when science was beginning to really supercede traditional medicine. We had fun poking about the garden, eating cupcakes (an unexpected bonus courtesy of Keats Festival – although of course we analysed carefully texture, and flavour as we ate, in suitably pseudoscientific mode) and identifying mystery compounds and liquids by scent alone.
