Uploading Documents

You already know that you can upload images to your WordPress.com blog. Using a strikingly similar process, other documents may be uploaded, as well. This includes .pdf, .doc, and .ppt files, among others. For a full listing of all file types permissible on your WordPress.com blog, please refer to the appropriate FAQ article – What filetypes can I upload?

Uploading any document or file type to your blog is accompanied by the same, simple process.

Go to Posts -> Add New or Pages -> Add New to begin; you can also accomplish this from an existing post or page found in your blog.

Click on the Add Media icon (this example will demonstrate the process using a .pdf file).

The upload window will appear. Click Choose Files to Upload. Browse your computer for the appropriate file (document.pdf, in this example).

After the “crunching” process completes, the document will be successfully uploaded to your Media Library.

At this point, you can either exit the uploading window or create a download link of the new document. You will even see an option to Delete the file.
