WordPress Video Player
The WordPress.com Video Player allows you to host and play videos right from your blog posts. The feature is currently in beta and is available only to those who have purchased a Space Upgrade.
How do I upload a video to my blog from my local computer?
Step 1.
Click the small video icon from “Add media” toolbar, which brings up media upload screen.

Step 2.
Click “Choose files to upload” button, and select your video file.

Step 3.
After you’ve selected a video file, the upload process begins.
While it is uploading the video from your local computer to WordPress server, it displays “Crunching…” and status bar.
Depending on your ISP network speed, it may take a while to upload a large video file.
When the video has been successfully transferred from your local computer to WordPress server, the Status shows “Your video is being processed. Please check back later”.
This is so because we are taking a few more steps to further process your video in order to make it accessible from the Web. Furthermore, we duplicate your video across our many data centers for maximum availability and accessibility.
It also displays information screen on which you can edit Caption or Descriptions. If you choose to edit those information, you must click “Save all changes” to save them.

Step 4.
Depending on the length of your video, after a few moments of waiting, you can
Click “Gallery” or “Media Library” tab, locate the video you just uploaded, and click “Show”, which display the details of the video.
If by now the processing has been finished, you will see the preview area together with Shortcode.
Step 5.
Click “Insert into Post” to insert the video short code into your post.
Or, you can copy the short code and paste it into your post directly.
For the above example, [wpvideo Mn9zHL5e w=400] is inserted into the post.
Mn9zHL5e is the globally unique video id and should not be modified.
w=400 means that the display width is 400 pixels, which is the default value.
You may set with to larger or smaller size, as long as it fits your blog them well.
Note that [wpvideo Mn9zHL5e] will have the default w=400, while keeping current video aspect ratio.
Finally, the video should be live on your blog when you publish your post!
What file types can I upload?
The video player supports avi, m4a, mp4, mpg, mov, wav, and wmv . Click here for other file types that you can upload.
How big of a file can I upload?
We limit video uploads to about 70 MB. But remember, uploading big files can take a long time!
My upload dies partway through. What can I do?
A slow or unreliable internet connection can further limit the size of the video you can upload. Try uploading at a different time of day or from a computer with a faster internet connection. Keep trying (don’t worry, failed attempts don’t count against your storage space limit).
Sadly, we’re not equipped to help with connection issues.
Can my videos be viewed anywhere else?
Nope. The videos can only be played from your site. FOR NOW!
Can I give the video shortcode to my friends?
Yes, any WordPress video can be embedded on any website.
The embed code is accessible from Menu, then Link tab.

Does this feature cost a lot of bandwidth? Do I have a bandwidth limit for my site?
You don’t have to worry about the bandwidth, it’s on us :)
Can I change the size of the WordPress Video Player?
Sure can! Just change the w="400" part of the video shortcode to some other width (in pixels). So, if you wanted the video player to be 250 pixels wide, you’d change
wpvideo 123 w=400
to
wpvideo 123 w=250
Can I change how the WordPress Video Player looks?
With Custom CSS you can change the styling of the video player a little, but most of the “look” is in the flash file itself.
