Frequently Asked Questions

Having a static page at the front of the blog

Normally your latest posts are seen when someone first arrives at your blog. You can change this if you wish so they see a static page. Here is how:

  • Go to Write > Page
Title this page ‘Home’ (for now anyway)
As this will be the front, add a few words. You don’t need to do it all though - check it works for you first. Publish that page.
  • Go to Write > Page again
    Title this page ‘Posts’
Leave this blank and just Publish the page

You now have 2 pages.

Go to Settings > Reading
You will see these options. Set yours to be the same.

Static Pages

Note:

  1. You can change the names of the pages if you want
  2. If you do not want the effect, choose ‘Your latest posts’
  3. If this gives you 2 Home links, read this entry.
  4. If your front page disappears, go to those Settings above and check they are correct.
  5. And the choices above do not appear until you have 2 published pages. Saved ones do not count.
