Can I move my blog from here to another blog somewhere else?

Of course! Your data is your data, and don’t trust any service that treats you otherwise. You can now import and export your entire blog and comments as an XML file that WordPress.com will generate for you. You’ll find the export and import options from the Manage tab in your Dashboard. The XML format is an extended version of RSS 2.0.

Please do NOT use this to get lots of backups for yourself. It uses a lot of resources to create the above file but also because everything on your blog is backed up hourly and also daily. So having this as a backup is really of little use.

Please only use it if you want to export your blog to move away from WordPress.com. Not that you’d want to do that - unless it’s to your own hosting of your WordPress powered blog! ;-)
