Where is my spam?
We’re being a little facetious, because obivously no one is asking for spam, but we’ve had a lot of people with the sense that this is the quiet before the storm and any second now your blogs will become overloaded with random comments trying to help you re-finance your house and be better in bed.
Well not to fear. We’re doing just fine in bed and we’re sure you are too, as a highly intelligent and attractive WordPress.com user, so we are ever vigilant in protecting you from these ruffians. We’ve been fighting comment spam for years, and WordPress has a well-deserved reputation for its protections against the scourge of spam. Here on WordPress.com we can do even more fun rocket-science stuff to protect the blogs.
So don’t fear, you don’t need to install any plugins or buy any extra protection. It’s another thing you don’t have to worry about. If on the off chance a spam comment does get through to your moderation, simply mark the comment as “spam” in the interface and we will send a pack of dogs to hunt down the rascal that did it, and you’ll also be protecting everyone else on WordPress.com from the same troublemaker.
Update: We’ve also activated Akismet for every blog on WordPress.com. You can view the comments marked as spam by going to Comments->Akismet Spam in your Dashboard.
